The Surround component provides a text surface that can be called into use by a Query Embed to provide more flexible framing and paging controls around the displayed resultset.

When a Query's View is embedded on a page, the default is to use the Query's own paging controls. whilst functional, these do not provide great flexibility. Instead you can opt to use a Surround. A Surround consists of a text surface, on which you can embed and format paging controls, and a special embed to represent the 'content' - ie the recordset.

A Surround component is not concerned with the resultset itself, and is not inherently linked to any particular query or View. This means you can confiigure and style a Surround for use by multiple embeds, retaining consistency throughout the site.
